Ways of Seeing

On January 30, 2014 InEnArt organized the first gathering of the Istanbul artist residency programs at Cezayir, Istanbul.

25 years ago the Berlin Residency Program organized and financed by the Berlin Senate was the first of its kind. Today there are more then ten regular programs inviting artists from Europe to stay, live and work in Istanbul for a period of time.

During the gathering and after a presentation of the InEnArt platform by Sabine Küper the artist Christoph Westermeier – artist in residence from the Art Foundation Nordrhein Westfalen, Germany – presented his work and talked about his experiences and what he is doing in Istanbul.

The gatherings will continue this year periodically at different locations (galleries, art institutions) in Istanbul. So watch out for the next one…
