Matthias Grotevent

Born in 1980 in Vreden, Matthias Grotevent earned a degree in goldsmithery before graduating in product design from UAS Düsseldorf and Monash University Melbourne. Afterwards he studied sculpting at Düsseldorf Art Academy and was given the honor of a master scholar by professor R. Deacon in 2014.

Based on sculpting Grotevent develops his works across various mediums. He delights in technical experimentation and loves the working process. This defines his works of art. Repetition and a successive buildup of structures unite his pieces.
