The Refugees

“The Refugees”, renowned musicians from Africa, Russia, the Balkans and Iran are on tour from May 2012 together with Heinz Ratz and his band “Electricity and eater” on tour. The special feature of the project: Some of the musicians are asylum seekers in Germany.

The German singer Heinz Ratz had the idea for the project. 2011, he cycled through the Republic and has given concerts in over 80 cities. He played his songs in refugee camps and not in concert halls. Solidarity with asylum seekers and the protest against the established refugees policies were the reason for this tour.

Heinz Ratz got to know excellent musicians from all over during the tour. Some of the asylum seekers who are waiting in refugee camps on their procedures are in their home countries known and successful musicians. Some were forced to leave their country due to their critical songs. Heinz Ratz is organizing the tour with these refugees and his band Power and Water.

Now is their first CD released and the band started a small tour in Germany.
