Jerome Symons: “Happy Days”

Dutch artist Jerome Symons explores the closeness between happieness and sadness in the human condition.

With objects, videos, photos and installations he touches topics like demonstrationg artists in the Netherlands, a wedding party in Marocco, workers in Dubai and Shaolin, monks in China.

What seems to be cheerful on the first look unfolds the shadows and dark sides of human existence soon. They are deeply influenced by the rapidly deepening social gaps in a globalized world and by a lack of communication betweens the suffering individuals.
