Artists on: Consumerism, Nature, Power and Privacy

„Actualitas“ is a collective of art students at the University of Fine Arts Braunschweig in Germany. With invited international artists they organized three weeks of performances, installations and interventions in public space. Regarding to the topics of power, green spaces and consume culture. Their focus was to reconquer urban spaces by each artists specific practice. Furthermore the artists came up with an critical view on the strategies of capitalistic system.
Random pedestrians where interrupted in their daily live walk through the city. Performance videos on advertising screens and interactive interventions on public city market places ask them about the normal utilization of common places. By the force of temporary and site specific public art works they have changed the meaning of the places.
