Introducing the Institute for Arts and Media Management

The Institute for Arts and Media Management at the Freie Universität Berlin is not just an academic institution, but – located in the vibrant city of Berlin – a competence center for all cultural matters: The Institute, its lecturers and above all its students are enriching Berlins cultural life with events like digital art exhibitions or the art autumn for kids and are likewise inspired by this creative metropolis. Embedding Berlins diverse infrastructure between high-culture, hip art scenes, creative clusters and entertainment is an integral part of the institutional self-concept and the curricular practice – substantiated by scientific research about these creative developments. Furthermore, the Institute is highly engaged in international co-operations, connecting Berlin with Istanbul, Beijing, or New York. Thus the students are going to write in this blog about a diverse range of events happening in Berlin as well as actual trends in the creative scene and international projects.
